Belly button piercing

The navel piercing is originally a type of body jewelry in which the lower stone of the curved jewelry fills the navel and the upper stone lies above it. Nowadays, the trend is to insert another piece of jewelry at the opposite position or to the right/left of the navel cavity. Titanium jewelry can significantly shorten the healing time after a navel piercing.

Care and healing:

  • The healing time of the piercing is approx. 6-8 weeks.

  • It is not recommended to turn or move the freshly pierced jewelry (except during care), as this can tear the healing inner surface.

  • The jewelry cannot be removed during the healing phase, as there is a high probability that the stitch channel will grow over in a short time.

  • Avoid treating the area around the piercing with products containing alcohol.

  • Intensive physical activity and sport (especially exercises that move the abdominal muscles) should be avoided for 1-2 weeks.

  • With a fresh piercing, it is forbidden to go to the swimming pool, sauna or solarium for 2-3 weeks.

  • It is advisable to wear clothing that does not put pressure on the body jewelry, such as belts, high-waisted pants and skirts.

  • For care, we recommend applying a special piercing care spray (available from us in the studio) thinly to the piercing area 3 times a day until healing is complete.

  • If possible, you should only shower after piercing. Water can touch the piercing, but it must never soak it.

  • Care must be taken to ensure that no contaminants, such as shower gel, body lotion, soap, etc., get into the wound.
