DIY - Do it yourself - Tattoos

According to the motto "back to the roots", a tattoo technique is on everyone's lips ... and on many people's skin: the technique is called "hand poked" or "stick and poke", and falls under the category of DIY tattoos, the do-it-yourself tattoos. These hand-poked tattoos, i.e. stitch by stitch, dot by dot, were once worn by pharaohs, and now even by stars like Rihanna, and it doesn't even have to be a workshop to learn this technique and apply it yourself. You can also find instructions and inspiration online, on YouTube, Facebook or Instagram. Here you can learn how to stitch the ink into your skin by dotting it with a needle. It's slow and more archaic than using a tattoo tool with millimeter precision#handpoke #sticknpoke

This is exactly how this technique works: The tool is limited to a needle. A piece of wood is attached to it for a better grip. You slowly insert the needle into your skin, weigh up how deep it should go in and then pull it out again. This takes time. For comparison: a tattoo machine pricks 70 to 150 times per second. You can imagine how time-consuming even a small motif is. #ohneende #whyiamsingleOnceeverything is prepared and it's time to put the first pricks into your skin yourself, you may not have the practiced hand of a professional tattoo artist. The responsibility is great. Am I really a respectable artist at the needle, or will I screw everything up? Your own work remains forever and you have to forgive yourself a lot, especially if the artwork on your skin turns out to be "junk". #artandjunk

There is actually no "right or wrong". Self-engraved tattoos can go wrong, of course, but they can also be funny and personal. Lines or areas are particularly suitable for beginners, as large tattoos with shading are much more difficult to create, and it is a question of how much importance you give to the tattoo, on which part of the body it is to be seen, and what you want to say with the tattoo. A technically skilled, high-quality and professional tattoo may be of higher quality: both options are long-lasting.#ithoughtiwascoolOnequestion, however, is non-negotiable. Hygiene must be 100 percent guaranteed in both cases. This is about physical integrity. Anyone who tattoos themselves at home is taking certain health risks. For example, bacterial infections or blood-borne diseases can occur. A needle should never be used twice. The tattoo equipment must be completely sterile. If you are unsure about hygiene, it can be interesting to consult a professional - even for a "hand poked tattoo". A professional tattoo artist is well-versed and experienced in hygiene issues. #selfietimeThemost difficult part of self-tattooing is the question of how to get an even, aesthetically shaped tattoo on your skin. How deep you stick the needle into the skin is crucial. If you go too deep, the ink can run and spread unsightly. This results in the typical blurry tattoos. If you don't go deep enough, the ink can leak out of the skin again. Surgical work - are you ready for it? If you re-stitch a tattoo too often, it will also damage the skin. The area of skin in question then swells, becomes red and bumpy. #freddiekrueger #hardykruegerPractice; practice practice practice.#practice makes perfectOneproblem to bear in mind is that once you've finally left the practice mode, after countless attempts on your own skin, there is slowly no longer any surface available on which to prove your skills. The body is littered with amateurish expressions. Seen as a whole, this can quickly end in disaster. The only solution is to completely blacken the tattooed areas. Malevich's black square would be a good motif to choose, but for everyone else, less is more, and always ask a professional for advice in an emergency.
